Building Hope Together

One of the things I love most about running Ryerson Brothers Construction is when our work can be about more than just remodeling or adding to houses—it can be about building hope. That’s why we’re so excited to be partnering with The Life House Women’s Shelter here in York County. They are on the front lines helping women who don’t have a safe place to sleep at night, and this project gives us the chance to come alongside them in a really practical way.

We’ll be taking an old early-1900s home in Rock Hill and giving it a full renovation so it can become a place of safety and dignity. That means gutting the entire interior and building it back better!… replacing failing plaster walls and ceilings with new drywall; adding insulation where there is none; upgrading all electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems; installing classy, new cabinets donated by JKH Cabinetry; refinishing the beautiful, original hardwood floors; and ultimately creating new spaces that are clean, functional, and welcoming. It’s a big job, but it’s the kind of work that makes us proud to do what we do!

At the end of the day, this isn’t just another remodel—it’s a HOME where women will have the chance to catch their breath, get back on their feet, and be reminded that they’re not forgotten. We’re grateful to play even a small part in helping The Life House extend its reach, and we can’t wait to see this old house become a place of new beginnings.
