To Kitchen or not to Kitchen?!

It has been a while since I posted, and a discussion with a homeowner last week caused me to do some research to answer them correctly, and gave me an idea for my next blog!
Many homeowners ask us, “Will I get back the money that I invest in remodeling my house?” It’s a fair question, and one we hear often—especially when conversations turn to kitchen and bathroom remodels. These two spaces are some of the most frequently used areas in any home, and they also tend to carry the most weight when it comes time to sell. In the Rock Hill and Fort Mill areas, kitchens and bathrooms consistently play a major role in how buyers perceive a home’s value.

From a resale standpoint, kitchens typically offer some of the strongest returns when updates are done thoughtfully. Industry data shows that minor to mid-range kitchen remodels often recoup around 60% to 75% of the investment, and in certain markets, even more. Improvements such as updated cabinetry, durable countertops, improved lighting, and better layouts help homes feel move-in ready and attractive to today’s buyers.

Bathroom remodels also perform well when it comes to return on investment. On average, homeowners can expect to recover approximately 60% to 70% of the cost of a mid-range bathroom remodel at resale. Clean, updated bathrooms signal that a home has been well cared for, even when finishes are simple, timeless, and not overly customized.
At Ryerson Brothers Construction, kitchen and bathroom remodels make up a large portion of what we do, and we take seriously the responsibility of helping homeowners make smart decisions. If you’re considering a remodel in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, or the surrounding areas, now is the time to start the conversation. A well-planned project can improve how your home functions today while protecting its value tomorrow.
Contact us to schedule a consultation and let’s talk through your goals, your budget, and what makes the most sense for your home.
